Position Summary
Provides comprehensive primary care to incarcerated individuals in a structured clinical setting, managing acute and chronic conditions while working closely with healthcare and facility staff to ensure quality patient care.
Qualifications Required:
Education
Master's degree or higher
Experience
-Primary Care (1+ years)
-Care Management (1+ years)
1+ years of experience in ANY of the following:
-Correctional Care
-Correctional Medicine
Licenses/Certifications
-Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:
-Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
-Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP)
-Nurse Practitioner (NP)
ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:
-American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
-American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
-American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS)
Overview:
Schedule
-4-day work week
-Day shift, no weekends
-Standard holiday schedule
Key Responsibilities
-Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations
-Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
-Provide sick-call coverage and same-day medical evaluations
-Develop and monitor treatment plans
-Educate patients regarding medications, disease management, and preventive healthcare
-Maintain accurate documentation within the NextGen EMR system
-Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and facility staff to ensure quality patient care
